“Like , I got a darkroom. I set one up in my house and I was trying to make pictures and develop photos, which were all not very good, but it was just doing it and learning how to do it. Knowing Wes, I figured there was a good chance that I’m going to show up there and he’s going to ask me to develop a photo on camera, so I’d better know how to do that! So I was reading about photography, and I carried a camera with me everywhere, and I was trying to develop pictures, and I was reading all of these books. I had this darkroom upstairs, which was such a weird thing, but it was amazing.“

Jason Schwartzman went full photographer mode in prep for Augie . In the end he didn’t need all the skills he practiced for, but having them in his bag is an accomplishment of it’s self.
